Bird Baths and Bee Balm

July 7, 2021

It seems every year my neighbor, Ann, adds a unique item to her yard. A visit to her home is like a walk through a garden center.

This year, her husband made a bird bath from chain links. They added a solar fountain pump, and the bath sits in the middle of a perennial bed.

Purple bee balm covers the front exterior of her home. The charming country walkway has a mixture of flowers and garden art.

Β

With a warm summer still ahead, children have time to create their own bird baths from items you may already have available. These would make a fun outdoor birthday party project. I made a sample bird bath from a Terra cotta container. Chip and dip bowls will work along with any idea you can come up with.

In 2019, I wrote a blog which showcased a variety of flowers and country items surrounding Ann’s home. To view this charming post, please visit my home page and click on Archives: July 2019 posts–Gardens and Cuts. You’ll love it!

Thanks Ann for always making our lives brighter.

Enjoy!

What a cool idea for an old log chain. I’ll have to start going to estate sales to find a few. It would be interesting to know how he made it. I assume he welded it, but maybe he used some new type of glue that holds steal. Clever idea!

Hi Becky. I will let you know how he made it. It is super cool.
In a couple of months, Ann’s husband is putting together a fence.
I won’t ruin their surprise, but it will be made from some really
neat things. Thanks for stopping by. Pat πŸ™‚

Hi Bev! Ann’s yard is so pretty. And she always has great
ideas. I did make an easy bird bath for kids. They’ll dry
super fast in the summer heat. Have a great week. Pat

If you have a suitable dish at home, you can make one. The fountain
pumps are nice too. Thanks for dropping by. Love, Mom
