Are you trying to come up with ideas on how to get the kids outdoors this summer? Birds. Once children become interested in the flying species, this could turn into lifelong passion.
Below are ideas on how to make your yard bird-friendly along with ways to enhance a child’s inquisitive nature. Trail walks, library visits, feed store purchases, and hands-on experiences could lead to an A+ on a future school report.ย
Feeding stations, bird houses. and water supply.
Children will love filling bird feeders with seed and liquid-like nectar in the hummingbird feeders. Scoops of grape jelly draw in orioles and finches. I’ve seen robins eat it too. Fresh water is a must.
Trees, shrubs, and flowers attract an abundance of summer visitors.
Library visits and nature walks pique interest.
Enjoy the summer and give your children an opportunity to take on the responsibility of bird caring. They might receive an A+.
