Can I Grow Moonflowers?

April 9, 2024

For two years, I’ve tried to grow the night-blooming moonflower. If this year’s attempt at the sweet-scented flower takes root, I’ll share the results in my May post. I hope to gift these beautiful climbers as Mother’s Day presents to family and friends.

I soaked the seeds overnight and planted them in seed starter pots filled with moist potting soil. I covered the pots with plastic and after the seeds sprout, I’ll remove it. Next, I stationed them near a sunny window. When they’ve grown a few inches high and the fear of frost is gone, I’ll transplant the seedlings outdoors.

Items needed are pictured below.

I’d love to hear if anyone has had success growing this beautiful flower. Please respond in the comment section below. Thank you.

Good planting!

It looks beautiful but we’ve never grown them. Show us pics when they bloom!
