Mother’s Day Button Craft

May 1, 2025

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I have an easy and quick Sunday school craft.

I found a free template online and purchased multi-colored cardstock. For younger children, large buttons are perfect.

To top it off, I’m adding a scripture to the back.

Supplies needed:

  • colored cardstock
  • tacky glue
  • buttons and lots of love

Happy Mother’s Day!

Easy Easter Cross Craft

March 21, 2025

Easter crosses are an easy craft to prepare in a Sunday school classroom. I was gifted a box of natural craft sticks. You can purchase colored craft sticks, but I added a little water to my craft paint to give the painted crosses a softer look. Hot glue finalized the process along with the addition of embellishments. I also printed a Bible verse on mailing labels to adhere to the back. Note: I hot glued the crosses together at home to prevent children from possible burns.

If you know a lonely or widowed neighbor, delivering a cross with a white lily would be a wonderful Easter blessing. And it’s a great gift for assisted living or nursing home patients.

Have a blessed Easter.

A Valentine Blessing

February 2, 2025

Valentine’s Day is almost here. Why not gift an elderly neighbor, assisted living resident, widow or widower with a special sweet treat? Soft cookies and cupcakes or chocolate creams are perfect gifts. Even a slice of homemade pie or bread would be an unexpected blessing.

Our church preschool class will make Valentine magnet cards next Sunday. And we plan to include a sweet treat.

Below is a sample of the magnet card. I printed copies from a memory verse template and used double-sided tape to adhere the verse to a piece of red cardstock. I included a heart on the top and placed a self-stick magnet on the back.

If you’re planning a surprise Valentine’s Day blessing, please share your idea in the comment section below.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Winter Blessings

January 10, 2025

Since winter is going to be around for several more weeks, it might be a good time to pick up extra cold weather items. Children often lose their gloves and hats so it’s nice to have replacements on hand. Many items are on sale, and it’s a great time to purchase for now and next winter.  Schools, churches, care programs, and outreach facilities are great places to donate warm clothing. Adults need items too. Winter coats, socks and boots, along with blankets are great gifts.

So, if you’re out and about and find a great deal, please remember those less fortunate and bless them with a warm winter item.

Happy New Year!
