Mother’s Day Book and Craft

April 29, 2024

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and I have a fabulous book recommendation, a revised version of Find Me In Paradise by Deb Gardner Allard. It’s a heart-pounding tropical adventure with clean romance. A perfect gift for mom, and it’s available on Amazon. To learn more about Deb, please visit her website: www.everydayromancewithdeb.com

I also have an easy flower packet and watering can craft. I made this several years ago and found the template online. Today there are many new ones. I’m making them again this year for our Sunday school class. The students will gift them to their moms on Mother’s Day. Colored cardstock, seed packets, and curling ribbon are all you need.

Update on moonflowers!

In my last post I wrote about starting moonflower seedlings. I’ve never been able to grow them. I’m thrilled to announce not only did they make it, but they are also thriving, and I moved them to larger pots. I plan to gift them on Mother’s Day.

May every mother have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Can I Grow Moonflowers?

April 9, 2024

For two years, I’ve tried to grow the night-blooming moonflower. If this year’s attempt at the sweet-scented flower takes root, I’ll share the results in my May post. I hope to gift these beautiful climbers as Mother’s Day presents to family and friends.

I soaked the seeds overnight and planted them in seed starter pots filled with moist potting soil. I covered the pots with plastic and after the seeds sprout, I’ll remove it. Next, I stationed them near a sunny window. When they’ve grown a few inches high and the fear of frost is gone, I’ll transplant the seedlings outdoors.

Items needed are pictured below.

I’d love to hear if anyone has had success growing this beautiful flower. Please respond in the comment section below. Thank you.

Good planting!
