Fruits, Vegetables, and More

July 31, 2020

August is upon us and roadside stands, farm markets, and orchards are getting into full swing.

No better way than to share healthy food ideas for kids during pandemic times. Since social distancing is the norm, stopping at an outdoor stand and encouraging children to select his or her favorite fruit or vegetable is a great way to beat the blues.

So . . . this post is basically pictures.

My favorite–smoothies!

Enjoy and eat healthy!

Tried and True-Chocolate Cheesecake

July 14, 2020

I thought I would share a Chocolate Cheesecake recipe that I posted a few years back. It’s a wonderful dessert for any occasion and a family favorite.

The card is difficult to read, faded, and has embedded chocolate spots.

Below I’ve typed the recipe for you to print. I sprinkled shaved Hershey bars over the top which gives the dessert extra appeal. Yum!

Chocolate Cheesecake

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup chopped nutmeats
  • 2 sticks softened margarine

Mix together and press into a 9×13 pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees and cool.

  • 1  8oz. cream cheese
  • 1 cup cool whip
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Mix and spread over cooled crust.

  • 1  3oz. box instant vanilla pudding
  • 1  3oz. box instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups milk

Mix together and spread over cream cheese mixture.

Top with cool whip and shaved Hershey bars.

Sometimes a tried-and-true recipe is the best dessert to serve.

Enjoy!
